Saudi Data Vault will invest $100 million in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City

Dhaka: Datavolt, a well-known data center manufacturing and power generation company in Saudi Arabia, will set up a data center at a cost of $100 million in Bangabandhu Hitech City, Kaliakair, Gazipur.

The company’s Chief Strategy Officer Ayad Al Amri announced this during a bilateral meeting with State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak at Gulshan Renaissance Hotel on Tuesday (September 12).

The Hi-Tech Park authorities initially assured the company to allot three acres of land in the Hi-Tech City. The company also said that it will set up a state-of-the-art data center on that land.

In the meeting, the Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology highlighted the government’s various incentives for investment in hi-tech parks and the future market potential. At the same time, Palak thanked DataVault for their interest and assured all kinds of cooperation from his ministry. In the meeting, the potential of investment in ICT and other sectors of Bangladesh was also discussed in detail.

At that time, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority GSM Zafar Ullah along with related officials of Data Vault and Hi-Tech Park Authority were present.
